| It is imperative for the Capacity Manager to continuously evaluate the technology capacity performance to ensure it meets
business needs and is cost-effective. Therefore, the Capacity Manager must proactively and constantly look for
opportunities and techniques to optimize the same. Trends of current technology capacity utilization must be produced and
evaluated. Based on this, the Capacity Manager must recommend upgrading resources to increase capacity wherever it is cost
justifiable. Prevention of issues and improvement in the performance of technology capacity can be done by tuning and
optimizing the performance of appropriate technology capacity components. Additionally, modelling and sizing the predicted
changes in IT services, and identifying the changes that need to be made (to services and components of IT infrastructure
and applications) to ensure that appropriate resource is available, must be carried out. |
